Object-Oriented Ontology is a contemporary philosophy which no longer puts humans at the center of the world. Its name may sound confusing to IT developers since it is neither about object orientation in programming, nor about information ontologies.
Nevertheless, it opens up a new way of seeing the world for designers and engineers: a world inhabited by things as much as by living beings. This talk will give an easy-to-follow introduction into Object-Oriented Ontology, showing what it could mean for the Internet of Things and how designers use it in their work today. No previous knowledge of philosophy is required.
